Police detain Borussia Dortmund bus bomber

1 week ago  Raphael   Sport News

On Friday, German police have detained the pressumed culprit of the Borussia Dortmund bus bombing that threatened Thomas Tuchel's team en route to a Champions League first-leg quarter-final against Monaco.
According to the report, the person in custody acted alone and his motives were economic, not terrorism related.
The 28-year-old Sergej W. had recently acquired a significant number of shares in the German club, and by causing the attack, was hoping to profit from a well-timed sale of such options.
The initial investigation of an Islamist motivated attack have been discarded therefore, as the person in question had recently acquired and sold shares in the club while also asking for a room in the same hotel on the same dates.
Marc Bartra was injured in the blast and is still recovering.
