The English Premier League, EPL, has announced that one person has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the latest phase of mass testing.
EPL confirmed this in a statement on its official website on Wednesday.
The statement read: “Latest results from COVID-19 testing as 1, 197 players and club staff were tested from 1-2 June.
“The Premier League can today confirm that on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June 1197 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, one has tested positive.
“The individual who tested positive will now self-isolate for seven days.”
It should be recalled that eighty- six people tested positive for COVID-19 last month. The Premier League is expected to resume later this month.
