Real Madrid and Barcelona are known to be eternal rivals when it comes to football and in recent years they've both been finding it hard top sell players between themselves as they prefer to hunt for their former players.
A player who have interest the Los Blancos is Josep Martinez, the Spaniard is a goalkeeper who is here to stay. The Las Palmas youngster and former youth product in Barcelona's famous La Masia academy has earned himself in coach Pepe Mel's first team after regular keeper Raul Fernandez picked up an injury three weeks ago.
Big things are expected of Martinez and he is already attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in world football. Real Madrid are one of the clubs who are said to be seriously keeping tabs on the player and have reportedly expressed their interest in bringing the 20-year old to the club. Martinez is still under contract with Las Palmas until 30 June 2020.
Las Palmas are trying not to pay too much attention to all of the transfer talk surrounding their young goalkeeper as they clearly see a future for him at the club and are hoping to tie him down to a long-term deal.
"He still has a year left on his contract and we are waiting to hear from the club regarding a renewal," the player's agent Vicente Rua said.
He has featured in two second division matches this season and has conceded three goals. For the youth team, he has played 30 times and has kept 14 clean sheets.
