These two quarter-final legs are a litmus test by Los Blancos to gauge how good Mbappe truly is, and could go a long way in determining whether the club give the go-ahead on Zinedine Zidane's wish.
The French coach has also admitted Dembele has caught his eye, as his ability to take on players, dribble, and use pace to create chances is amongst the best on the continent.
Thomas Lemar, Benjamin Mendy, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Julian Weigl are all also being scouted, although they are lower priorities for the Spanish club.
