Real Madrid squad reaffirm their trust in Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema

The glass may not be half full at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in this moment, but it's not half empty either and Real Madrid's squad are backing Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema to rediscover their scoring touch.
Talk of a crisis around Los Blancos has been mitigated by the punctuated memory of the team's glorious success across last season and the two trophies already collected in 2017/18.
However nobody accepts that three draws and two defeats by mid-October is form enough to continue adding to that haul, even if Real's performances have generally been pretty good.
Dominating possession, reasonably strong in defence and creating chances, it is very apparent that it is in the finishing department where Madrid have not been clinical enough.
And it is an area of the pitch where the onus is on Ronaldo and Benzema, yet inside the Real dressing room the team's confidence in the striking duo has been echoed many times ahead of the weekend clash versus Eibar.
"Calm down, we're with you until death," has been among the phrases mentioned in an attempt to assure the strikers, with Ronaldo in particular thrown off by a five-game ban that greeted the start of his LaLiga campaign.
Although the Portuguese star has notched at a rate of one goal every 94 minutes, his tally of five in Europe has not reached the league, where he has only scored once this season.
As for Benzema, he too can only boast a solitary strike past Getafe as the wider fandom and media target the Frenchman for his lack of decisive contribution.
Of course, it should still be known that Benzema is tied with Paco Gento in Real's all-time scoring list, at seventh with 182 goals, as he seeks the light at the end of the tunnel with his teammates' backing.
