It was a positive day for Real Madrid new boss this season Zinedine Zidane as Lucas Vazquez returned to Los Blancos training on Monday. The Spanish international was able to rejoin the group after the muscular injury that he sustained in the UEFA Champions League exit to Ajax on March 5.
With this new development, Zidane's initial headache of lacking more wingers in the squad from start will be sorted out as the winger will be available to face Huesca in LaLiga Santander on Sunday night at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Lucas partially returned to the squad dynamic last week, but it was business as usual for the 27-year-old as he looks to retain the same importance in Zinedine Zidane's second spell at the club as he did under Santiago Solari.
With the addition of Vazquez, Real Madrid training session took the number of available first team players up to nine, with 13 members of the squad currently away with their national teams.
The good news continued for Los Blancos as Dani Carvajal, who also injured himself against Ajax but played on until the end, was able to work with and without the ball on the pitches at Valdebebas.
His injury, a grade II muscle tear, should see him miss another week as a precaution, despite his eagerness to return for the Huesca match.
The one player who continued his recovery inside the facilities at Valdebebas was Vinicius Junior, although there is increasing optimism that the Brazilian could return before the end of the season, particularly with one eye on next summer's Copa America.
