Real Madrid midfielder, Lucas Silva is no longer Los Blancos player after the Brazil international and the club decided to terminate his contract by mutual consent after four unsuccessful years at the club.
As a result of this decision, the 26-year-old is now free to negotiate with any club in the world, despite the transfer window having shut two days ago. In the coming days, Silva hopes to sign for another club in Europe.
Silva joined Real Madrid from Cruzeiro in the 2015 January transfer window, during the time of Carlo Ancelotti at the dugout of Los Blancos, for a fee of 15 million euros.
The move was hardly surprising as the then 21-year-old Brazilian had just been named Best Midfielder in the Campeonato Brasileiro. However, Silva was barely given a chance in the Spanish capital, playing just eight games in LaLiga Santander and one in the Champions League, before being shipped out on loan to Marseille and then back to Cruzeiro.
Now, after not being able to train at Valdebebas for some weeks due to a bureaucratic issue, he has terminated his contract with the club by mutual contract.
Silva's contract was set to expire in June 2020, but both he and Real Madrid concluded that his best chance of finding a new club was to do so as a free agent.
