Keylor Navas may just have won
his third Champions League title in a row and he may be Zinedine Zidane's
undisputed starter, but Real Madrid are keen to bring in another goalkeeper to
compete with the Costa Rican and to provide a long-term option.
At 31 years of age, Navas is still in his prime, but Los Blancos are already putting a succession plan in place and their preferred choice is Roma's 25-year-old goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Los Blancos have already been in touch with the Brazilian's agent and with Roma sporting director Monchi.
As happened last year when they
had to sell Mohamed Salah, Roma need to bring in some cash before June 30 and
they are aware that they could fetch a fee of between 50 and 60 million euros
for Alisson.
There are other candidates too,
like David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois, but Alisson could be a cheaper option
and, if Roma aren't stubborn, he could be transferred before the World Cup,
where he'll be Brazil's starter.
Liverpool are also interested in the shot-stopper, but it is understood that he'd prefer the Spanish capital.
