Chelsea are keen to tie down Nigerian youngster Faustino Anjorin to a new contract as head coach Frank Lampard is hopeful of securing the futures of his young talents, according to goal.com.
The 17-year-old Anjorin whose current contract expires in the summer of 2021 could be included in the Blues' Carabao Cup match against League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday evening.
Anjorin whose style of play has been compared with crocked midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has scored five goals in seven matches across various youth levels this season.
Ahead of a possible debut, the central midfielder was omitted from the Chelsea U21 squad narrowly beaten by Bristol Rovers in the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday evening
Hudson-Odoi and Reece James have been playing in the Under-23s for the past week and they are all set to mark their first-team returns in the match against Grimsby.
Unlike Anjorin, James will permanently train with the first team this season.
