Pep Guardiola and Franck Ribery had a difficult relationship at Bayern Munich during the Catalan coach's three years in Bavaria, and the Frenchman congratulated Monaco on Twitter after they eliminated Guardiola's side from the Champions League.
The 33-year-old winger made it clear that his new head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, "knew how to treat his players," a clear dig at his former boss; and his tweet about Monaco will only add to the tension between the two.
"Well done Monaco! Congrats for making it into the Champions League quarter-finals," Ribery tweeted.
This is the first time that a side managed by Guardiola have not made it past the last-16 stage, while Ribery's Bayern advanced to the last eight after beating Arsenal 10-2 on aggregate.
