Riyad Mahrez is set to leave Leicester City in the summer

Algerian international Riyad Mahrez will push for an exit from Leicester City in the summer in order to pursue Champions League football with a bigger club. The former Le Havre man played a key role for the Foxes last season as his 17 goals and 11 assists guided them to a historic and maiden Premier League title. However, the 26-year-old has not been able to replicate a similar showing this term which has been showcased by his meagre tally of five goals and three assists in the top flight.

According to The Mirror, the African Player of the Year is eager to switch clubs during the off-season in an attempt to join a Champions League side. Mahrez had been linked with a potential switch to English giants Arsenal last summer, but he opted to knock back their advances in order to sign a new four-year deal in East Midlands. With his form having skydived over the past year or so, Mahrez is likely to have lesser suitors this time around as he bids to make way from the King Power Stadium.
