Cristiano Ronaldo says it doesn't matter who scores as long as Portugal continue in their fight for World Cup qualification. A Selecao das Quinas beat Hungary 3-0 in Lisbon on Saturday night with Ronaldo scoring twice after an Andre Gomes opener, to take his goal tally to nine. Portugal moved onto 12 points from their five games, just three points behind Group B leaders Switzerland. Speaking after the game, the Real Madrid attacker brushed off his accomplishments while praising his side and Gomes. He told RTP: "I know how many goals I have but that's not the most important thing. What matters is that we won and we're in the fight to go to the World Cup. "We started out timid. We were slow to react to their tactics, but everything changed with the first goal. The team played better, more confidently, and the goals came naturally. "The team is good. We have a lot of young players."

On Gomes, he added: "He's done very well since he started with the national team. He's done a phenomenal job, not only with his goals." Ronaldo's next assignment is a friendly against Sweden in his home of Madeira, where he must surely been keen to add to his overall total of 70 goals from 136 international appearances. "It will be beautiful. The national team haven't been to Madeira for many years. It will be good for the people of Madeira," the star concluded.
