Portugal secures a vital three points against the Lions of Morroco in their second game at the Mundial in Russia all thanks to the current footballer year’s fourth-minute header which gave them a 1-0 win.
Cristiano Ronaldo was full of praise for the Africans after they showed a good fighting spirit all through the game but he was happy they secured the maximum points and they are on the verge of making it to the next round.
"I don't care about the records, the most important thing was to win and to stay in a good position," he said in the official FIFA post-match interview.
"Morocco played very well, but we got the three points.”We have four points now and we're close to qualifying, which was our primary goal. "Obviously I am happy to have scored the winning goal and we have to keep going."
Ronaldo also went on to explain his new beard.
"It was a joke I had with [Ricardo] Quaresma," he explained. "We were in the sauna when I started shaving my beard and I left a bit and I said that if I scored against Spain then I'd leave it until the end of the tournament. "It worked and brought luck, as I scored and I scored today, so I'll keep it."
