Despite having turned out for a number of Europe's truly elite teams, Ronaldo Nazario still holds Real Madrid close to his heart and hopes Zinedine Zidane's charges win the treble this term.
In a ceremony to mark 2016's Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian and other past greats came onto the pitch at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu prior to the 5-0 victory over Granada on Saturday.
"Madrid have to fight for all the titles, Zidane is managing the team well and has all his players motivated, I hope they win the treble," Ronaldo explained to BeIN Sports.
With both players having won the award on multiple occasions it was fitting for the pair to share the stage on Saturday yet it was the 40-year-old who appeared humbled by the Portuguese attacker's achievements.
"It is an honour to be able to share the Ballon d'Or with Cristiano Ronaldo," he added.
Across his spells with Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid and AC Milan, Ronaldo was awarded the FIFA World Player of the Year gong on three occasions as well as two Ballon d'Ors, however he hopes that the former Manchester United star takes home a fifth.
"It's a very special moment and with his ambition he will certainly fight to win the fifth," concluded the ex-striker.
