SAFA have announced they will unveil the new Bafana Bafana coach next week. "The naming of new @BafanaBafana coach has been postponed to next week as we need the coach available at the Press Conference!" read a post from Bafana's official Twitter account on Friday morning. Carlos Queiroz is among the favourites for the job, which was vacated with the firing of Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba in December last year.
Shakes, who recently lost a bid to halt the appointment through the Labour Court, is disputing the grounds of his dismissal, with a CCMA hearing scheduled for March 7-9. He was previously indefinitely suspended from his coaching duties on November 13 following a tirade aimed at the SAFA hierachy after Bafana's 2-1 win over Senegal in World Cup qualifying.
