Jorge Sampaoli explained how he is the coach but claims Messi is the real leader in the Argentine squad. The Argentina all all time highest goal scorer is determined to win the world cup to stamp his feet as the greatest of all time in the game and Sampaoli is placing a lot of responsibility on him to lead the team. 

"He has a lot of responsibility when it comes to passing things on to the others," Sampaoli explained in a press conference."If he is feeling good then it will be his team."The best player in the world has to transmit something to the others."It is more his team than it is mine."

Speaking about the World Cup generally, The former Chilean National team coach admitted that Argentina will be considered as one of the favourites.

"We are candidates to win it, we cannot deny our essence," he said."But right now my mind is focussed on who will make the list of 23 players."He went on to talk about the team's friendlies, as they take on Italy and then Spain over the next week."These matches are not worth three points and the result won't take us anywhere, so the important thing is to consolidate our ideas," the former Sevilla boss said."The most important thing from this mini tour is to lock down our way of playing."There is not time to lose."I want internal competition to work out how our play will function."I want us to be clear what we're playing for."

He also spoke about the possiblity of those players left out of making the final squad to the mundial.
