Following a four-match ban and a New Year's Eve defeat to Liverpool, the latest challenge for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will be to calm the tensions between his ex-wife Gianinna Maradona, the daughter of Diego, and his current girlfriend Karina, an Argentinian singer.
The pair have taken to Twitter after Karina's daughter Sol allegedly fell out with Benjamin, the son Aguero fathered with his ex-wife.
"If you have something to say about my daughter then call and tell me," Karina tweeted to Gianinna Maradona.
"I can handle it and you can tarnish my name all you like, but don't get involved with my daughter."
Maradona initially insisted that she would not start an argument on Twitter, but a day later she too had something to say.
"Children reflect the manners they have picked up from their parents and anyone who has had the privilege of personally knowing Benjamin can tell you what I am like as a mother," she said.
"He is sweet, polite and a good friend, son and grandson."
The player has yet to get involved in the online spat through his own social media profiles.
