Real Madrid ran riot on Girona in their second Laliga game over the weekend with goals from Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema scoring twice.
Since Ronaldo left the Spanish capital Ramos has emerged as the penalty taker for the club with Benzema coming behind the El Capitan.
He scored the first penalty to level things up in the first half after going a goal down and in the second half when Real Madrid were awarded another penalty Sergio Ramos handed the responsibility to Benzema which he did justice to.
"I'm the first taker and he is the second," he said after the comfortable 4-1 win away at Girona.
"You cannot be selfish, you have to show companionship."
The Spanish captain dispatched his own penalty with a spectacular display after a stuttering run-up, he clipped the ball into the roof of the net in a Panenka-esque effort.
"It was totally improvised," he added. "It's a technique that I've used for some time and goalkeepers usually know it, but it was a good opportunity to do it."
Karim Benzema also scored his, as Real Madrid raced with 1-4 away victory to take them to the pinnacle of the Spanish Laliga with their archrivals Barcelona in second place.
