With Andres Iniesta set to leave Barcelona, many have questioned why the Spaniard has never won a Ballon d'Or, including Sergio Ramos. Speaking after Real Madrid's win at Bayern Munich, the defender suggested that there was something of an Iberian bias acting against his countryman.
"If he was called Andresinho instead of Iniesta, he would have won two Ballon d'Ors," stated Ramos in the Allianz Arena mixed zone.
It could be that Ramos beilves Iniesta has missed out for not being considered flash enough, or that he would have had a better chance were he Brazilian. Many have pointed to 2010 as the year Iniesta should have won the title, missing out to Lionel Messi despite scoring the winner at the World Cup in South Africa.
