Simeone wins IFFHS coaching award

7 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

For the first time in his career, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has been named as the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics) coach of the year.
The Argentinian is currently on his holidays in Buenos Aires and is preparing to head back to Madrid, but this is a nice Christmas gift for the 46-year-old.
Simeone was able to beat some big names to the award, including Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane and Leicester City's Claudio Ranieri, who both had excellent years at their clubs.

Best Coaches of the Year for IFFHS

1. Diego Simeone: 113

2. Zinedine Zidane: 108

3. Claudio Ranieri: 86

4. Pep Guardiola: 62

5. Unai Emery: 38

6. Luis Enrique: 24

7. Jurgen Klopp: 16

8. Mauricio Pochettino: 15

9. Massimiliano Allegri: 6

This award is a finishing touch to an outstanding year for Los Rojiblancos as they fought for La Liga until the final matchday, and also got to the final of the Champions League.
So far this season, Atletico have already qualified for the Last 16 of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
