Arsenal are preparing ahead of next season with signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer, Unai Emery continues to move quickly in rebuilding his Arsenal side with the reported signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
The 30-year-old has been a regular at Borussia Dortmund since a 2013 move from Werder Bremen and represents another experienced head being added into the Gunners backline.
Daily Telegraph detail an agreement being reached between the two clubs on a transfer fee of around 18 million euros, which must be considered in relation to the fact Sokratis only has one year left on his contract in Dortmund.
Starting his career with AEK Athens, Sokratis has 79 caps and arrives following Per Mertesacker's retirement from the heart of Arsenal's defence.
