Responding to Cristiano Ronaldo's quotes about his new life at Juventus, Real Madrid head coach Santiago Solari was quick to praise his squad while respecting the Portuguese's opinion. The 33-year-old also challenged Lionel Messi to join him in Italy, but it is his comments about the team spirit at Juventus that has caught the attention of those in the Spanish capital.
"Humility is a great virtue and the Real Madrid squad is great and humble," said Solari in his press conference before the CSKA Moscow game on Wednesday evening. "Cristiano is living history of Real Madrid and his feelings are his own."
When asked about whether LaLiga Santander or the Champions League is the priority of Los Blancos, Solari widened the goals for his side.
"Those two and also the Copa del Rey and the Club World Cup," he stated. "We have to be alive in all of the competitions. "I like them all and that's what we should aspire to."
The entrance of Marcos Llorente to the Madrid line-up appears to have brought some stability, yet doubts are still there about the midfielder's future as he searches for regular game time.
"I am happy with what he does in every training session and in the games," said Solari."I do not know what will happen with him or anyone else."
