STAKEGAINS TEAM OF THE WEEK

This is the first edition of “STAKEGAINS TEAM OF THE WEEK” and we promise to be giving you our best players across Europe top leagues according to their performances during the week.
Last weekend features some mouthwatering clashes in Europe top leagues. In the EPL, the red side of the Merseyside Liverpool looked horns with Manchester United in a game that ended in stalemate. In the Serie A the old ladies succumb to the firepower of Ciro Immobile’s side Lazio likewise Inter Milan edged out as winners in the Milan derby. La liga was not left behind as Atletico Madrid took on the Catalan giants Barcelona which ended 1-1.
In a 4-3-3 formation, here are the players that make up our team of the week:

1. JAN OBLAK Atletico Madrid (Spain) GK: In goal we have the Slovenian who put up a superb performance against Barcelona over the weekend. Stopping Lionel Messi from getting on the score sheet but had to succumb to a Suarez late header, but the Rojiblancos goalie was magnificent all through the game.

2. THOMAS MUNIER Paris St. Germain (France) RB: At the right back position we have PSG full back who put up a show to win all three points for the Emery’s men. Scoring both goals in the 1-2 away win over Dijon notably scoring the winner at the stoppage time.

3. LUISINHO Deportivo La Coruna (Spain) LB: Moving to the left back position, we have a Portuguese who was instrumental for Pepe Mel’s side in securing a point in Eibar. Winning 4 important tackles and keeping the left side solid all through the game.

4. VESTERGAARD Borussia Monchengladbach (Germany) CB: With a blistering performance from the central defender in which he scored and made sure his side kept a clean sheet against his former side Werder Bremen.

5. NALDO Schalke 04 (Germany) CB:  The veteran defender had a stellar performance in their 0-2 away win against Hertha Berlin. He gave an assist for Burgstaller goal which made it 0-2.

6. KEVIN DE BRUYNE Manchester City (England) CMF: After scoring against his former side Chelsea before the international break, the Belgian picked up from where he stopped by being instrumental in City’s massive win over stoke. He was phenomenon by pulling the strings in the midfield and therefore providing two assists.

7. RAHEEM STERLING Manchester City (England) RMF: The pacy young city winger is getting acquitted to the Guardiola style of play, he was undoubtedly the player who punished the Potters the most, giving two assist and scoring a goal for himself.

8. NABIL FEKIR Olympique Lyonnais (France) LMF:  The French side captain rose up   to the occasion by having  a hand in sell the goals scored by Lyon against title holders Monaco. Scoring two gaols and assisting the first goal scored by Mariano Diaz. He will be remembered for the last grasp goal from a direct free kick which turns out to be the winning goal.

9. MAURO ICARDI Inter Milan (Italy) CF: Another captain on the team of the week is Icardi, making sure his side came out victorious in the Milan derby game scoring a hat trick for his side in a 3-2 home win over rivals AC Milan.

10. GABRIEL JESUS Manchester City (England) RWF: The young Brazilian is the third city player on the list scoring a brace in their 7-2 thumping over stoke city.

11. CIRO IMMOBILE SS Lazio (Italy) LWF: The rejuvenated Italian forward took it up to himself in putting more misery on the Old ladies. He scored a brace in his side’s away win over defending champions Juventus.
