Another awesome weekend went down in the Europe’s top five leagues, only with the exemption of the German Bundesliga who are already on winter break. But the rest of the leagues still had a game before their winter break, with only EPL being left of the winter break rest.
There were few top notch games during the weekend but the biggest club football game went down in the weekend which is the “EL CLASICO”. The game between Real Madrid and Barcelona, in which the Catalan side ran riot on the Los Blancos with a 0-3 away win. Likewise in the Italian Serie A Juventus locked horns with Roma, the old ladies were victorious with a lone goal win. The most intriguing game In the EPL, was the game between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates, Arsenal had to comeback from two goals down to claim a resounding 3-3 draw.
The formation is changing from last week’s 4-4-1-1 to a standard 4-4-2 formation. Here are the players that made the list:
1. BAPTISTE REYNET Dijon (France) GK: The French goalie was even on the losing side against Angers but his brilliance in goal saved his team from being disgraced.
2. SERGI ROBERTO Barcelona (Spain) RB: The young Spaniard is already turning Bernabeu to his own home, with awesome performances in his last three consecutive visits. He assisted Suarez’s goal which gave Barcelona the lead.
3. JOSE ANGEL Eibar (Spain) LB: The Spanish side left fullback was a threat on a left side of the defence in both defending and attacking, in the process assisting two goals in their 4-1 thumping of Girona at home.
4. NORDI MUKIELE Montpellier (France) CB: Montpellier won away from home 0-2 against Bordeaux all thanks to the young Frenchman, standing as a rock in defence.
5. PHIL JAGIELKA Everton (England) CB: The veteran defender was a stumbling block in the defence of Everton as they held the blues at home in a 0-0 draw, He made a two clearance off the line in ninth minute of play.
6. ANTONIN BARAK Udinese (Italy) CMF: The Czech republic international help his side to a 4-0 win over Hellas Verona in which he scored two goals.
7. GIOVANI LO CELSO Paris St. Germaine (France) CMF: The young argentine was awesome all through the game; he assisted the second goal of the game as PSG end the year with a win.
8. JUAN MATA Manchester United (England) RMF: The Spanish midfielder scored both goals for United against Leicester City which Includes a sublime free kick in the second which actually gave them the lead but lost all the three points in the last kick of the game to make it end in a draw
9. HARRY KANE Tottenham Hotspur (England) CF: The Englishman gave a 100 percent performance against Burnley as Pochettino’s men won 0-3 away from home in which Harry scored all the three goals taking home the Match ball.
10. LIONEL MESSI Barcelona (Spain) CF: Arguably the greatest player of all time was at it again against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu scoring the second goal and assisted the third goal as they won 0-3.
11. ERIC MAXIM CHOUPO-MOTING Stoke City (England) LMF: The Cameroonian scored the second goal for Stoke in the dying minutes of the first half before assisting the last goal as Mark Hughes’ men won 3-1 at the Britannia Stadium.
