Every weekend in European league football is always filled with top notch performances from players in each team, but there are players who put in more compared to their other pairs. 

The EPL was back into action last weekend, after a short break because of the FA cup ties, which brings back the “team of week” combination to 5 top European leagues.

Over the weekend we had a mouthwatering clash between Manchester United and Chelsea at the Old Trafford in which the red devils took the day with a 2-1 win. Also in the Italian Serie A AS Roma bow to the rejuvenated AC Milan side led by Gennero Gattuso, as they went down 0-2 at home. The Ligue 1 was not left out as they had a big clash between Paris Saint Germaine and Olympique Marseille in which Unai Emery’s men came out on top with a 3 nil win.

The team of the week is dominated by the Spanish La liga as they produced of five players followed by the German Bundesliga and the Italian Serie A each producing two players, while both the EPL and  the French Ligue 1.

The formation for this week is also a twist to the conventional 4-3-3 which is 4-2-1-3. Here are the players who made the list:

1. RUNE JARSTEIN Hertha Berlin (Germany) GK: After holding down the league leaders to a 0-0 draw at the Allianz Arena, much credit was given to the 33 years old Norwegian International goalie for pulling off one of the best performance this season.

2. DAVIDE CALABRIA AC Milan (Italy) RB: One of the top performer over the weekend was the young Italian who was the man of the match against AS Roma at the Stadio Olympico as his side won 0-2 away from home. He scored the second goal of the game.

3. THEO HERNANDEZ Real Madrid (Spain) LB: The young left back had a great game against Alaves at the weekend also marauding play on the left side.

4. MARCELO ANTÔNIO GUEDES FILHO Olympique Lyonnais (France) CB: The Brazilian was awesome for his side, as he assisted their only goal in the game.

5. MILAN ŠKRINIAR Inter Milan (Italy) CB: Inter were back to winning ways against Benevento thanks to the Slovakia international. He scored one goal and was also the man of the match.

6. EMRE CAN Liverpool (England) DMF: The German International played his heart out as the Reds won 4-1 against Westham United. He scored the first goal and also assisted another.

7. CHRISTOPH KRAMER Borussia Mönchengladbach (Germany) DMF: The World Cup winner was the reason why is team won away from home as his lone goal in the 72’ minutes stood and they came home with all three points.

8. LIONEL MESSI Barcelona (Spain) AMF: Arguably the best player in this current football season was splendid at the weekend as Barcelona came from a goal down to win 6-1 at the Camp Nou scoring two goals and assisting Suarez first goal.

9. LUIS SUAREZ Barcelona (Spain) CF: The Uruguayan scored three goals in their game against Girona. The Blaugrana forward took his goal tally to 20 league goals.

10. ANTOINNE GRIEZMANN Atletico Madrid (Spain) RWF: The weekend was good to the Frenchman as he got his first hat-trick of the season in an away game against Sevilla, The Rojiblancos won 2-5 away from home.

11. CRISTIANO RONALDO Real Madrid (Spain) LWF: The El’Capitan for Madrid in the weekend took up the Mantle and scored two goals in their 4-0 win over Alaves. He took his tally to 14 goals.
