Europe’s top 5 leagues has been awesome week in week out, and last weekend was not an exception. The football league season is getting exciting with teams putting on great performances in order to stay up on the league table.
There were numerous top notch games over the weekend but the most talked about game was the Manchester derby, as it was the game of the weekend in which the Cityzens came out victorious with all-important 3-points away from home. The Mourinho’s men were stunned at the Old Trafford with goals from David Silva and before the break Marcos Rashford levelled things up but the mighty argentine Nicolas Otamendi gave Guardiola’s men the edge over their city rivals and opened up an 11-points gap. In the Italian Serie A we had a match between Juventus and Inter Milan which ended in Stalemate.
The weekend’s Team of the week cut across all the top 5 leagues with no league dominating, which all leagues approximately had an equal share of players on the team. EPL and French Ligue 1 produced three players while the Spanish La Liga and the Italian Serie A produced two players each while the last player on the team came from the German Bundesliga.
This weekend’s formation is the natural 4-3-3 formation but with no central midfielder but a defensive midfielder. Here are the players who made it to our Team of the week.
1. SORRENTINO Chievo (Italy) GK: The Italians goalie was awesome for his side against Roma, and he was the reason his sides were able to take a point out the game. Making tremendous saves and kept a clean sheet in the game.

2. HAKIMI ACHRAF Real Madrid (Spain) RB: The young Moroccan was a threat both in defence and attack against Sevilla, He got a goal for himself to cap off a great performance, a goal which actually was his first in the white shirt.

3. ARTHUR MASUAKU Westham United (England) LB: The hammers cause an upset over the weekend with a vital win over Chelsea, giving Moyes his first 3-points in the hammers dugout. Arthur had a great performance on the left side of the defence.

4. NICOLAS OTAMENDI Manchester City (England) CB: The big argentine defender was a stumbling block at the heart of defence for the Cityzens silencing Romelu Lukaku all through the game and he also scored the vital goal that earned Guardiola’s men all three points away from home.

5. NACHO FERNANDEZ Real Madrid (Spain) CB: The Spanish defender scored a goal early in the game and also made sure is team kept a clean sheet in their 5-0 win against Sevilla.

6.  AOUAR Olympique Lyonnais (France) DMF: The French side defensive midfielder was not only doing his defensive duties but also made sure he scored a brace as his side took all three points away from home.

7. FLORENT THAUVIN Olympique Marseille (France) RMF: The rejuvenated Marseille side won over the weekend all thanks to right midfielder claiming two assists to cap off a great performance.

8. BONAVENTURA AC Milan (Italy) LMF: The Rossaneri Midfielder put up a match winning performance against Bologna as he got both goals in his sides 2-1 win over the weekend.

9. JIMMY BRAND Guingamp (France) CF: The French striker helps his side secure a vital win over the in-form Dijon scoring a goal and also getting an assist, in a Man of the Match performance.

10. HEUNG-MIN SON Tottenham Hotspurs (England) LWF: The South Korean winger was a threat from start to finish as Spurs run riot against Stoke City. Son scored a goal and likewise assisted another.

11. YORIC RAVET Freiburg (Germany) RWF: The French winger played a key role as his side came from three goals behind to win the game against Cologne. Registering two assists in the game and also causing a lot of problems on the right flanks.
