Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane support for Bangaly Soumahoro after own-goal against Kaizer Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane felt sorry for Bangaly Soumahoro following the defender's costly own-goal against title rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. The Ivorian, under pressure from Chiefs substitute Gustavo Paez, gifted Amakhosi a late winner as his attempted backpass beat goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene at FNB Stadium. “It's an unfortunate situation for Bangaly. I feel sorry for him when I spoke to him because I think we had a very good game until that happened,” said Mosimane, whose side trail log leaders Bidvest Wits by seven points but with two matches in hand.

“He was not himself. There was another ball that he almost gave away but he is a human being. We must also understand if we put him in a situation like this, it must be worse for him in terms of reaction. But that’s not an issue, it's part of the game and we will learn from that.” Sundowns next host Bloemfontein Celtic in the league at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
