Through official channels, Nigeria Professional Football League side Katsina United have informed that they have bolstered their goalkeeping ranks with the signing of Ikechukwu Ezenwa. The future of the Nigeria international was up in the air in the last few months following his release by Enyimba but an agreement has now been reached with Katsina United after passing a routine medical.
Ezenwa can be considered a veteran in the Nigerian topflight having defended the colours of six different clubs in 12 years and will bring plenty of experience with him at Katsina United. The 30-year-old turned pro at Ocean Boys in 2006 before spells at Heartland, Sharks, Sunshine Stars, Ifeanyi Ubah FC and Enyimba.
The thought of playing second fiddle to Theophilus Afelokhai and Fatau Dauda in the upcoming season played a part in his decision to quit the NPFL giants in the off season. Ezenwa has posted two shutouts in his four competitive matches for the Super Eagles.
