SuperSport United set to extend Morgan Gould's stay beyond the current PSL season

KickOff.com has learned that SuperSport United are likely to retain the services of Morgan Gould for another season. The former Kaizer Chiefs defender re-joined Matsatsantsa at the beginning of the 2016/17 PSL season on a short-term contract, which saw him reunite with coach Stuart Baxter, who previously worked with Gould at Amakhosi. And while the South African defender is into the last months of his current deal, the 34-year-old looks set to stay in Pretoria for at least another campaign.

"Morgan has done well. There is no reason the club could not keep him again next season," a source close to SuperSport United tells KickOff.com. The source also revealed defender Luvulwethu Mpeta is set to remain with Platinum Stars on a permanent basis next season, having initially left United for Dikwena on a loan deal this term. Title-chasing SuperSport are set to host Baroka FC at the Mbombela Stadium in their next Absa Premiership game on Saturday, 15h00 kick-off time.
