Andres Iniesta leaving Barcelona this summer will see changes in the leadership realm, with a new vice-captain said to be chosen a position occupied by Lionel Messi, who is now the official captain.

The German international knows already that it will be the squad’s decision on who to be the new vice-captain, but he has put himself forward for a leadership role.

"It's something that the squad will decide, but it's an honour that my name is being talked about for the captaincy position," he told the press after arriving for the Blaugrana's pre-season tour.

"It would be an honour to be one of the captains, of course it would. "But for me it's not the most important thing. "We need more than four captains."

Ter Stegen also talked about the present situation of backup goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen and stressed that it is the Dutchman's choice to determine his future.
