This World Cup no-show XI would take some beating

5 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

World Cup qualifiers have come to an end and various quality players are set to miss next summer's major football meeting.
Teams such as Italy, Chile and Holland haven't managed to book a ticket to Russia and stars such as Gianluigi Buffon and Alexis Sanchez won't make the trip.
MARCA has thus composed a theoretical starting line-up of those who will be absent for the upcoming World Cup.

Goalkeepers: Oblak/Buffon
The absence of Italy and their captain, Gianluigi Buffon, was certainly a shock for football fans and the ball-handling skills of Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak will be missed in Russia.

Defenders: Alaba-Bonucci-Chiellini
They could easily form the backline of a European football powerhouse and although the Italian duo have managed to participate in major tournaments, Bayern Munich's talent hasn't yet been introduced to a World Cup.

Midfielders: Mkhitaryan-Verratti-Vidal-Bale
Although Henrikh Mkhitaryan's absence might have been expected due to his national team Armenia's low ranking, three of the most expensive midfielders in the world won't have the opportunity to show their skills to fans from all around the world this summer.

Forwards: Robben-Aubameyang-Sanchez
Chile and Holland certainly seem to be in crisis after their failure to qualify for the World Cup and Alexis Sanchez, along with Arjen Robben, have been barred from competing in Russia. On the other hand, Gabon would have made a major surprise if they have managed to ensure a spot, despite featuring Borussia Dortmund's lethal scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
