German player of the year
Toni Kroos has been named Germany footballer of the year for the first time in his football career, according to reports by Kicker magazine.Members of the Association of German Sports Journalists casted their votes as the Real Madrid central midfielder amass 185 out of 475 votes.
The decision was quite obvious after most of their player underperformed last season and the 28-years old being the only German to be win an international title winning the UEFA Champions League for the third consecutive times with Real Madrid.
"It is a great prize," said Kroos. "It is not easy to win and, above all, not everyone wins it."
Jupp Heynckes was crowned as coach of the year for the second time in his career for his work at Bayern Munich.
