When pressed on just who is the best footballer in the world, Fernando Torres found the question a tricky one, the Atletico Madrid forward praising Cristiano Ronaldo for achieving so much in the same era as Lionel Messi.
Torres' own career in LaLiga is certainly in its twilight at the present moment; however he is still contributing for Diego Simeone's team.
"What Cristiano Ronaldo has done in the time of Messi says a lot about him," he explained to Radio MARCA.
"If he wasn't there, then Messi would have achieved double. "I think that Messi is the best player in the world, although they are different players."
