Transfer News: Two Chelsea stars linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge before January transfer windows closes

Juventus and Borussia Dortmund could make late moves for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen before the transfer window closes. The Danish 22-year-old made his breakthrough under Antonio Conte last season but has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting line-up since Maurizio Sarri took over. Sarri was also not happy to see Christensen leave the bench for a toilet break as Chelsea lost to Arsenal earlier this month. According to the Sun, he could leave Chelsea before the transfer deadline on Thursday. Juventus have let Mehdi Benatia join Qatari side Al-Duhail and may look to Christensen to provide additional defensive cover.
Meanwhile, Dortmund want reinforcements as they push to win the Bundesliga. Christensen would leave Chelsea for first-team football. He has made just one appearance in the Premier League this campaign. Chelsea would want a £6million loan fee to let Christensen leave before the end of the month.
However, Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater could be heading to Vitality stadium for the rest of this campaign as Eddie Howe shows interest in his signature. According to Daily Mail, the Bournemouth manager is convinced the England international will help bolster his midfield which has been far from convincing throughout so far this season. £13.5m-rated Drinkwater joined the Blues from Leicester City 18 months ago but he has seen his career went down the due to lack of games.
At some point, the England international was forced to play with the youth team so as to maintain a topnotch fitness level. As his chances of playing regularly for the Blues become more slimmer as the day goes by, Drinkwater has made up his mind to move elsewhere so in order return back to reckoning. The media outlet further claimed that Chelsea are equally ready to let go of the midfielder on a six-month deal with a clause of £20m fee, should the Cherries desire to sign him permanently.
Drinkwater played massive roles in Leicester City’s unexpected run to their record-breaking Premier League title in 2015-16. He formed a formidable partnership with N’Golo Kante at the middle of the pitch throughout the 2015-16 campaign and both players — who are under contract with Chelsea — provided strong cover for the back four. Turkish side Fenerbahce are also linked with the player’s signature but it is unclear whether Abramovich will want to sanction his move to the relegation threatened side.
Sarri has already restructured his Chelsea squad, letting Alvaro Morata move to Atletico Madrid on an 18-month loan. Victor Moses has joined Fenerbahce while Gary Cahill and Danny Drinkwater could exit Chelsea this week.
