UEFA Champions League draw
The most prestigious league in the world, the UEFA Champions League, is about to get its 2018/19 season underway, but before the football gets up and running the first exercise will be the drawing of balls to determine which teams will face each other in the group stages of the competition.This is how the draw is going to look like: Eight groups of four will be drawn, with the top two from each progressing to the knockout rounds and the third-placed falling into the Europa League knockout rounds.
This year’s group stage draw takes place on Thursday, August 30. Live from the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, things get underway at 5pm. The 32 teams will be split into four pots, with a team picked from each in turn. This will create eight groups, consisting of a team from each seeded pot.
