UEFA reveals the reason why VAR ruled out Ajax's goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League

VAR was once again at the centre of attention in a match involving Real Madrid, this time favouring the European champions as Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico's first half goal was ruled out. Dusan Tadic was deemed to have interfered with Thibaut Courtois in an offside position, resulting in the goal being ruled out. UEFA explains the reason why the goal was ruled out on their official twitter page account which drew a lot of reactions from fans all across the world.
The tweet reads: "VAR in the UCL: in the 38th minute of the Ajax v Madrid first leg, Nicolás Tagliafico’s headed goal was ruled out following a VAR review. The referee identified that Tagliafico’s team-mate Dušan Tadić was in an offside position and interfering with the goalkeeper -"
After the game players also gave their view on the decision made by the referee and his team. Real Madrid former player Alvaro Arbeloa does not understand the controversy behind ruling out the goal and he also shared his view on it on the social media. "It doesn't seem too difficult to do things right," he tweeted in response to a UEFA post explaining the reason behind the goal's ruling out.
