Victor Moses retires
Nigeria and Chelsea winger Victor Moses has announced his retirement from international football.The winger had previously represented England in all youth levels but switched allegiance back to country of birth Nigerian and thus wearing the green jersey 37 times, scoring 12 times since making his debut in 2012.
"I have experienced some of the best moments of my life wearing the Super Eagles shirt and have memories with me that will last a lifetime," he said.
"However, I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on my club career and young family, as well as to allow the next generation the opportunity to step up and to flourish.
"Thank you for the memories and good luck to the team for the future."
The 27-year old represented Nigeria at two FIFA World Cup finals both in Brazil 2014 and in Russia 2018, reaching the knockout stage in the 2014 but went out at the group stage in Russia.
Moses won the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria in South Africa, 2013 under the Late Stephen Keshi.
