Virgil van Djik has been pictured in a Manchester City shirt – however it’s not quite concrete evidence that he will be joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Southampton defender, who is being strongly linked with a move in the January transfer window, was gifted the sky blue jersey by a cheeky team-mate for Secret Santa.

It’s not clear which naughty team-mate gave Van Djik the shirt, however it was Jose Fonte who posted the image on social media of the Dutch defender wearing the kit.
Van Djik, who has also been strongly linked with Chelsea and Liverpool, seemed to be amused by the present. However, how well it goes down with anxious Southampton fans concerned they are about to lose one of their star assets remains to be seen.
The player himself recently fuelled transfer speculation by stating he wanted to play at the highest level.
‘Every player in the world has ambitions; I have ambitions like everyone else. I want to get the maximum out of myself as a player. I can improve in every aspect and that takes time. That takes games. That takes playing at the highest level and with the national team,’ he said.
