Wenger: I've rejected some of the world's best teams to respect my Arsenal contract

On Friday, Arsene Wenger put speculation to bed on a possible exit from Arsenal, as the French coach admitted he has rejected many offers from big teams in order to honour the club and fulfil his contract.

Last season Wenger agreed to an extension of two more seasons at Emirates Stadium, and his contract is set to expire in June 2019.

However, the London club are experiencing yet another poor season and with the high chances of missing out on the Champions League for the second consecutive year, doubts have been raised among the fans on his continuity as coach.

"I have always respected my contracts," Wenger declared to the assembled press."I would like to remind you that I have said 'no' to some of the best teams in the world to respect my contract, and that is what I am going to try to do now.

"We all know that we are in a job in which the future is complicated and unpredictable, but, for me, everything is focused on winning the next game.

"We have to improve in each match and show that we are competitively hungry until the end of the year."

Arsenal hold sixth position in the English Premier League with 45 points, eight away from the qualification spots for the next edition of the Champions League.
