Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has turned down a coaching offer from Bayern Munich. He has rejected the chance to become Bayern Munich's assistant manager.
The ex-Liverpool and Spain midfielder hung up his boots at the end of last season after three years with Bayern.
Carlo Ancelotti offered Alonso the chance to continue his career as his No.2 ahead of pre-season, reports the Liverpool Echo. But Alonso opted against taking the position - as did Bayern and Germany legend Philipp Lahm.
