Xavi: Kroos is my successor on the pitch

4 weeks from now  Raphael   Sport News

Filling the void left by Xavi in LaLiga is a difficult one but the midfielder has pinpointed Real Madrid's Toni Kroos as the man to do so.
The decorated Spain international believes that the former Bayern Munich man is the unsung hero of the Real Madrid side, although his admiration for him doesn't extend as far as to wishing him well in the Champions League final.
"I think that Kroos is the engine of Real Madrid," Xavi told Sportbild. "He has a way of playing that reminds me a lot of myself. He is like my successor on the field.
"In the Champions League final, I'm Barcelona and I can't go for Real because if they do well, it means Barcelona are doing poorly.
"I wish Juve luck because of the hard work that they have put in in recent years. They deserve it."
Xavi also touched on Pep Guardiola's first season at Manchester City and believes that things will improve for the coach following a difficult debut campaign that saw him end up without a trophy.
"He will be strengthened following this situation," he said. "He has always been measured by winning titles but you can't plan success."
