Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique tells Super Eagles star John Ogu that he reminds him of his former teammate Yaya Toure via phone chat.  The 32-year-old defender recorded his 500th appearance for Barcelona in Sunday’s 5-2 demolition of Real Betis at the Camp Nou.
He contacted Ogu and in a video chat, showered effusive praise on the midfielder even comparing him to former teammate and four-time African Footballer of the Year, Toure
“You’re a great guy, you’re a monster you remind me of Yaya Toure,” Pique said.
Pique’s praise of the Nigerian may not be farfetched as he possesses the characteristics of the Ivorian legend with both players having almost the same physical ability in the heart of the midfield. The 31-year-old Nigeria midfielder has been without a club since the expiration of his deal with Isreali side Hapoel Beer Sheva and has been linked with a host clubs in Europe and Asia.
