Zidane: Real Madrid are living our best period since I became coach

Not normally one to wax lyrical about his team's successes, Zinedine Zidane couldn't help but revel in the excellent state affairs of his Real Madrid side, which stretched its unbeaten run to 39 games courtesy a 5-0 dismantling of Granada.
The Frenchman thrust Isco into the starting line-up despite James Rodriguez's fine outing versus Sevilla, and the Andalusian duly repaid his coach's faith by opening the scoring in the 12th minute before bagging his brace less than 20 minutes later after Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema also got their names on the scoresheet.
The 4-0 half-time scoreline enabled the coach to rest the likes of Toni Kroos and give Fabio Coentrao his first appearance of the season in LaLiga, as Casemiro scored in the 58th minute to complete an easy morning's work for Los Blancos.
"This is our best period since I became a coach," Zidane enthused in his post-match press conference.
"It's important to win but it's also important to win in a certain way. All of us - the players, the coaching staff and the fans - are enjoying Real Madrid at the moment and that's what matters."
The match was preceded by a ceremony to allow Ronaldo to show off his fourth Ballon d'Or, with previous Madridista Ballon d'Or winners including honorary president Paco Gento, Ronaldo Nazario, Luis Figo, and Zidane himself paraded in front of the Bernabeu faithful.
"I'm very happy for Cristiano [Ronaldo]. Those of us standing next to him had one or two Ballon d'Ors at most, but he has four!" the Frenchman remarked.
Regarding the game itself, the 44-year-old noted his team's professionalism against an opponent who find themselves in a relegation scrap.
"We played very well and I'm happy to get another win. It's not easy to do what these players are doing," he stated.
"Everything becomes easier when you score first and early. Despite our lead, we worked hard until the final minute while respecting our opponent."
The French boss also reiterated his desire to see all members of the squad contribute to the team's successes.
"One or two players can make the difference, but we achieve things as a team. With so many games to play in a season, we will definitely rotate."
