Zinedene Zidane, fondly called "Zizou" was a professional footballer with an archived Success in his arsenal. His name became an household name on the lips of football lovers in the last two decades across the globe being a renowned footballer of his own generation. The 3-time world footballer award recipient was phenomena in his playing days and will be remembered for his exceptional football control and "zizou-sque 360°" dribbling skill. Zidane's successes as a football player were only but a tip of the iceberg of What is to come in the latter part of his almost "unbeatable" career. Before his appointment as Real Madrid's coach in the second half of 2015/2016 football season, the form of the team was persistently flunctuating without a balance in the desired result to commensurate the spending power of the great football club.
Zidane has since his appointment done the unthinkable as the coach of Real Madrid with notable moments and results that has seldom got the world football fans standing at different point in time. Most notably, on Thursday, he wrote his name on the history books when he guided the los blancos to a 40 game-unbeaten run after a last gasp equalizer from fellow country man Karim Benzema who has been under much criticsm of late from fans on his current form and injury plague which has struck his playing time this season, to play out a 3-3 draw with Sevilla away from home, therefore scoring 116 goals and conceding 39 goals in the process, thus, setting a new Spanish record one ahead of Barcelona their arch-rival. His managerial undertaken has only suffered two defeats; a home loss in the hands of bitter rivals Atletico Madrid and also 2-0 loss to Wolfsburg in the quarter finals of the UCL which they turned around with a 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu, all thanks to the newly crowned Best FIFA player of the year 2016 and 4 times Balon d'or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo's hatrick.
Much questions has been raised about how good the Frenchman is. Some football fans says his success at the Spanish giant so far is as a result of luck, some say it is due to the relationship between him and the players while some say it is because of his professionalism owing to the fact that he was in their position before and he knows how it works.
Even with all the talks about Zizou's managerial skills, he has not been moved by that he keeps taking the los blancos through the success route, having won three trophies thus far.
Madrid play away to Sevilla on Sunday night in LA liga, in a replay fixture of Thursday's copa del rey tie. Let's see if Zizou can still lead a much more stronger squad of his to victory against Jorge Sampoili's men and increase their unbeaten run to 41.
Then the question of whether his managerial undertaken has been as a result of LUCK, RELATIONSHIP or PROFESSIONALISM will be a topical issue for the football world scene again.
