The Super Eagles of Nigeria are out of the Africa Cup of Nations after their 1-0 loss to Tunisia in the second round of the competition on Sunday evening. The only goal of the game was scored by Youssef Msakni very early in the second half.
Nigeria was tipped to win this particular encounter after winning all their games in the group stage, with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia qualifying for this round as best losers.
Here are the three players to blame for Nigeria’s 1-0 loss against Tunisia;
1 Samuel Chukwueze
The Villarreal man couldn’t offer a lot from the right-wing which lead to his substitution in the second half when Nigeria needed a goal to get back into the game.
2 Taiwo Awoniyi
The former Liverpool striker was nowhere to be found when it comes to making forward runs and creating space for himself behind the Tunisian defence. He was replaced in the second half when Nigeria needed a goal.
3 Ola Aina
The former Chelsea defender’s mistake very early in the second half cost them the game. His mistake gave Youssef Msakni the chance to create a space to shoot which eventually ended in the back of the net.
