The UEFA Champions League final is set to take place on the 29th of May, 2021 with Chelsea facing their Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The location for the final was initially fixed for Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey but have been officially switched to Estadio do Dragao in Portugal the official stadium of FC Porto.
According to reports in goal, 6000 fans from each team will be allowed to attend finals as lockdown restrictions at major sporting events begin to ease.
UEFA released an official statement on their Twitter page to confirm the new venue of the Champions League final this season.
“The UEFA Champions League final between Man. City & Chelsea will be held at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto,” UEFA stated.
Manchester City had previously played in the stadium this season when they faced FC Porto in the group stage but Chelsea didn’t have the opportunity to play in the stadium this season despite playing against the Portuguese side in the quarter-finals.
