Chelsea has appointed former player Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager until the end of season. The former Everton manager will take charge of the Blues on interim basis.
The Blues sacked Graham Potter few days ago with Bruno Saltor leading the west London club in their last game against Liverpool.
Lampard’s appointment as new Chelsea manager comes after being sacked by Everton earlier this season due to poor performance. He is now being tasked with reviving Chelsea season as the Blues has been performing badly recently.
Chelsea released an official statement on their website to confirm the appointment of Frank Lampard as their manager until the end of the season.
“Chelsea FC has announced that Frank Lampard has been named Caretaker Manager until the end of the season,” the club confirmed.
“The move marks a return to Stamford Bridge for Frank who enjoyed an illustrious playing career with the Blues, winning the Premier League on three occasions and the UEFA Champions League in Munich. He managed the club for 84 games, including guiding us to an FA Cup final.”
