Lower division side Portsmouth have signed Chelsea midfielder Tino Anjorin on a season-long loan.
Chelsea released an official statement on their website to confirm Anjorin’s loan move to Portsmouth.
“Tino Anjorin will spend the 2023/24 season on loan at League One side Portsmouth,” the club confirmed.
“The versatile attacker came through the Academy ranks at Chelsea and heads to Fratton Park for the upcoming campaign to play under John Mousinho.
“The move represents a third temporary stint away from Stamford Bridge for Anjorin, following previous loans at Lokomotiv Moscow and Huddersfield Town.
“Anjorin, who can operate on either wing or as a creative midfielder, has featured for Chelsea’s senior side in the Premier League, the Champions League and both domestic cup competitions and will now hope to use this loan spell for regular minutes after recovering from a long-term injury.
“Best of luck for the season, Tino!”
Pompey boss John Mousinho said: “We’ve got a player with Premier League capability, who’s excellent on the ball and has real athletic qualities.
“He can carry it, he can find a pass and he can score a goal – now he has to knit all that together on a consistent basis.”
Anjorin has previously spent time on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow and Huddersfield.
