Manchester United star, Edinson Cavani has signed a new contract extension with the Red Devils.
The Uruguayan international agreed to a one-year extension with the Premier League side to nullify rumours linking him away from the club.
The former Napoli striker joined United last summer after ending his contract with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and immediately had an impact on the team.
Manchester United released an official statement on their website to confirm Cavani’s new deal.
“Manchester United is delighted to announce that Edinson Cavani has agreed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until June 2022,” the club stated.
“Cavani has scored 15 goals this season and has been instrumental in our European and Premier League campaigns.”
Cavani could win his first title with United as they face Spanish side Villarreal in the final of the UEFA Europa League in a few days.
