Juventus secured a place in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Ferencvaros 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata ensure Andrea Pirlo’s side secure a place in the second round after conceding first courtesy of Myrto Uzuni’s tap in.
Ronaldo’s equaliser in the 35th minute means he equalled Lionel Messi‘s champions league record in the game. Ronaldo almost had his second early in the second half, but Dibusz beat him to a poor backpass.
According to Opta Joe (@optajoe): “70 – #CristianoRonaldo has scored 70 goals in Champions League home games: a joint-record for home goals in the history of the competition, level with Lionel Messi. Monsters. #ChampionsLeague #UCL”
The Serie A giants stole the win late in the game as Morata’s header was too strong for Denes Dibusz to keep out.
